Anvil Tutorial

Finished size: 40” x 40”
Fabric required:
2/3 yard light
2/3 yard dark

Cut:
4 squares light, 10½” x 10½”
4 squares dark, 10½” x 10½”

4 squares light, 11” x 11”
4 squares dark, 11” x 11”

With the 11” x 11” blocks, make 8 half-square triangle units:

On the wrong sides of the light squares, mark a diagonal line from one corner to the other. Place one light square on top of a dark square with the line facing up and pin along the diagonal. Sew two seams ¼” from either side of the line. Cut down the center line to form the HST units.

Arrange blocks as shown and sew together in rows, being careful to match the points.
